Since I'm not quite up for talking about the Chargers game or twits...I mean tweets, how about we talk about this:
Several years ago, while on the road for an away game, Mitch Holthus shared with me his vision to have a permanent national Veteran's Day Game at Arrowhead. Regardless of how you feel about yesterday's game, you have to admit, Military Appreciation day was awesome. When those helicopters flew over the stadium at the end of the anthem, I almost forgot to cue Mitch.
Whether you believe in making love not war, or hard-line foreign policies, as American in the 21st Century, we all recognize that the very freedoms we enjoy are not free! And that the sons and daughters that are empowered to be the enforcement of these freedoms deserve respect and praise. As do all that have gone before them. I can't think of a better idea than Kansas City representing the mainstream commonality of America than Mitch's Veteran's Day Game.
Take the bye week to write your Congressman. Write the league. Tell them KC wants to demonstrate a nation's pride to every individual that has given themselves to military service.
